Chocolate Spiderweb Pretzels: The Easiest Halloween Treat You’ll Ever Make

Chocolate Spiderweb Pretzels

Makes about 20 spiderweb pretzels.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 20 pretzel twists or pretzel rods (whichever shape you prefer)
  • 200 g (about 1 cup) semi-sweet or dark chocolate chips, melted
  • 60 g (about ⅓ cup) white chocolate chips, melted
  • 1 tsp coconut oil or vegetable oil (optional, for smoother drizzling)

  • Halloween-themed sprinkles or edible eyes (optional, for decoration)
  • Ingredient substitutions:

    • Use milk chocolate instead of dark for a sweeter flavor.
    • Swap white chocolate for orange candy melts for a more festive look.
    • Gluten-free pretzels work perfectly if you need a GF version.

Instructions

Step 1: Melt the Chocolate

Melt the semi-sweet chocolate chips in 20-second bursts in the microwave, stirring between each burst, until smooth. Repeat the same process for the white chocolate in a separate bowl. Add a small amount of coconut oil to each if you want a glossier, more pourable consistency.

Step 2: Dip the Pretzels

Dip each pretzel into the melted dark chocolate, making sure it’s fully coated. Let any excess chocolate drip off, then place the pretzel on the parchment-lined baking sheet.

Step 3: Create the Spiderweb Pattern

While the chocolate is still wet, spoon the melted white chocolate into a piping bag or ziplock bag with a small corner snipped off. Drizzle 3–4 thin concentric circles of white chocolate on top of the dark chocolate coating.

Then, using a toothpick, drag lines from the center of the circles outward toward the edges, alternating direction each time. This creates the classic spiderweb effect.

Step 4: Let Them Set

Place the tray in the refrigerator for 10–15 minutes, or leave at room temperature for about 30 minutes, until the chocolate is fully hardened.

Step 5: Decorate and Serve

Once set, add optional sprinkles, edible eyes, or a light dusting of edible glitter for extra Halloween flair. Serve immediately or store for later.
